I ran a night club in the mid 1970’s called “Wild Man Sam’s” who’s patrons included Hell’s Angles, Hessians, local thugs, red necks and rockers. Having people skills and knowing how to guide negative energy away from you is the key to gaining control or simply surviving. In these situations, police are no less an adversary than any criminal. You are more likely to be abused, shot, kidnapped and threatened by a police officer than any criminal, so this book addresses the issue of criminal law enforcement. I have received three black belts from Tsutomu Ohshima himself in the practice of traditional Japanese Karate, I took up this practice in my mid 30's and quickly moved up the ranks through diligent practice and good instruction. I had taken judo as a child when I first moved to Orange County, CA. There were mostly Japanese farmers and all the boys went to the Kodokan Dojo. Learning to fall was the most valuable asset I came away with as well as learning to confront those older and larger than myself.
I have written this book after teaching Karate for 20 years and saw the nature of people wanting to improve themselves or have more discipline and confidence. Most of them could not afford it or simply want to dress in a special outfit. This book allows you to understand concepts beyond that presented in any martial arts school.
